Beijing, May 28 — At the 3rd China International Equipment & Equipment Expo in Beijing, Centigon, the world's leading commercial vehicle armor company, made its debut by showcasing two high-end armored luxury vehicles: an Audi A8 and a Lexus. The armored versions of these models were priced at 220,000 euros and 340,000 euros respectively, marking the first time the company's products have been introduced to the Chinese market.
Andre Kolod, Sales Director for Centigon Asia Pacific, told reporters that China’s massive automotive market has become a key target for the company. Centigon has been expanding across Asia for several years and established a representative office in Hong Kong last summer. He expressed confidence that annual demand for armored vehicles in China could reach 500 units.
Centigon specializes in custom armor refitting for commercial vehicles and is known for its high-end clientele. In 2005, the company completed armor upgrades for over 1,600 vehicles, generating $139 million in revenue. It is the largest supplier of armored vehicles to the U.S. government and provides bulletproof cars for more than 60 world leaders.
In addition to the Audi A8 and Lexus models on display, Centigon also revealed details about its upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class armored version. The first armored S-Class will be available this fall, followed by extended-wheelbase variants measuring 135 cm and 50 cm. These models will feature advanced bulletproof technology and will be manufactured at Centigon’s facility in Bremen, Germany. The company also offers custom options such as roof modifications, LCD screens, and hidden seating arrangements.
