CITIC Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. has recently achieved a major breakthrough in the field of large-scale mining equipment, successfully developing and manufacturing the world's largest shaft drilling rig with full independent intellectual property rights. This advanced rig features a diameter of 13 meters, a drilling depth of up to 1,000 meters, and a maximum lifting capacity of 700 tons. The working principle of this large shaft drilling rig is similar to that of an oil drilling rig, but it is far more complex in terms of technical content and structural design. It integrates multiple advanced technologies, including mechanical systems, electrical controls, hydraulic mechanisms, and mud circulation systems. Only a few countries—such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and China—possess the core technology required to produce such large-scale drilling rigs. CITIC Heavy Machinery is the only company in China that has both the design and manufacturing capabilities for large-diameter shaft drilling rigs. This technological advancement has made it possible to construct large coal mines in unstable geological formations, which was previously considered extremely challenging. According to feedback from users, the shaft drilling rigs developed by CITIC Heavy Machinery have made a "special contribution" to the Chinese coal industry, improving efficiency and safety in deep mining operations.
