The new engine for the Prospect Heights Fire Department is being designed with a focus on performance, efficiency, and modern firefighting needs. Below are the key specifications and details:

  • Spartan Metro Star chassis
  • Cummins L9 450HP engine paired with an Allison transmission for reliable power and smooth operation
  • Front Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 21,500 lbs and rear GAWR of 32,500 lbs for enhanced load capacity
  • Waterous 1500-GPM single-stage pump equipped with a pressure governor for consistent water flow
  • 750-gallon water tank to support initial fire suppression efforts
  • Integrated around-the-pump foam system with a 60-gallon foam tank for quick response to flammable liquid fires
  • No light tower or generator installed; instead, all lighting consists of high-efficiency Fire Tec LED scene lights
  • Full stainless steel body construction, which is lighter and more cost-effective than aluminum, as noted by Alexis
  • Minimalist cab design without SCBA seating. All SCBA and personal protective equipment (PPE) are stored in a compartment directly behind the cab
  • Only EMS gear is stored inside the cab for easy access during medical emergencies
  • Front bumper-mounted master stream, preconnect lines, and extrication tools for immediate use at incidents
  • Main hose bed designed to carry 2,000 feet of 5-inch hose for large-scale water supply operations
  • Removable hose bed that holds 800 feet of 3-inch hose for flexible deployment and storage

The chassis is expected to arrive in February, with the final delivery anticipated in late spring or early summer. The exact date will be confirmed once the chassis has been received and the unit is fully assembled.

Levelling Agents For Acrylic Fibers

Dymalev 1227 a cationic surface-active agent, the chemical base is Dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, suitable for cationic dyestuff dyeing and printing, it also can be used as accelerator for alkali weight reduction process of polyester fiber and antibacterial finishing agent for textiles.

Dymalev AN is a compound of special surfactants. It is a new leveling agent widely used in acrylic fiber dyeing. It has affinity for acrylic fiber. It can compete with cationic dyes during dyeing to reduce the initial dyeing rate of dyes.
