I just followed Truck Company 9 from Joliet to this massive mansion-style house fire. It was quite an intense scene, and Joliet really put up a good fight. Their initial response was solid, sticking to their working fire protocol.

Around 4:31 PM, the Joliet Fire Department received a call about a structure fire at 606 Rookery Lane. Within three minutes, the first units arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke billowing from a two-story single-family home that was currently unoccupied and under construction. Thankfully, all workers managed to evacuate safely before the firefighters arrived.
Multiple hose lines were deployed inside to tackle the flames raging on the second floor. Meanwhile, other teams focused on tasks like water supply, search operations, ventilation, salvage efforts, overhaul work, ensuring safety, and providing logistical support. By 5:40 PM, the fire department had successfully brought the situation under control.
Units from Stations 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 were dispatched to the location. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the responders or anyone else involved. Interestingly, last September, the Joliet City Council had already designated 606 Rookery Lane as a public nuisance due to ongoing issues related to the property’s condition.
The "M" in "MO" usually stands for "Mini" or "Modified." This body style is smaller than the OM and is often designed to be more comfortable for players of smaller stature or those who prefer a more compact instrument. It may sacrifice some bass response compared to larger body styles but can be more comfortable to play, especially for extended periods.
