Working fire in Chicago, 6-23-17

This message comes from Eric Haak:

There was a small fire at the 24th Battalion on Thursday afternoon, June 23rd, at 11:00 AM, located at 11006 S. Green Bay Road. Even though I knew the fire would be under control long before I could arrive, I still made the trip to capture some photos of a few rigs that don’t get called out too often.

These images offer a rare glimpse into the equipment and vehicles that are usually kept in reserve or not seen as frequently. It's always interesting to see how these units look when they're not on active duty. The photos were taken just after the incident, and you can see the scene still had some lingering smoke and activity around the area. It’s a great reminder of the hard work and dedication that our first responders put in every day, even for smaller incidents. If you're a local or have an interest in firefighting, these shots might give you a new appreciation for the less-seen side of emergency response.
