On July 15, 2015, Northbrook fire crews responded to a commercial building at 1840 Raymond Drive early in the morning. Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy smoke coming from the roof of a 100 by 200-foot, single-story structure. The incident was initially classified as a working fire, but due to the size and complexity of the blaze, the alarm was upgraded to a Box Alarm. Three fire lines were deployed to contain the spreading flames.
The fire had traveled through the building's ductwork, making it particularly challenging to fully extinguish. Firefighters conducted an extensive overhaul of the structure to ensure all hot spots were cooled and no hidden embers remained. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials have not yet released any details about potential casualties or significant damage to the property.
