On September 26, the first-phase project of Sichuan Hanlong Group and Baotou Menghan Industrial Co., Ltd. officially broke ground in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The project involves the production of 1 million tons of PVC resin annually, along with 720,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda. It is a joint investment aimed at boosting the region's chemical industry and leveraging local resources.
Located within the Shangejia Chemical Industrial Park in Tumerteyou Qi, the project has a total investment of approximately 7.2 billion yuan. The first phase will see an investment of 2 billion yuan to construct facilities capable of producing 200,000 tons of PVC resin and 150,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda annually, along with necessary supporting infrastructure. The project follows a planned, phased approach, with subsequent phases aiming to expand production capacity to 400,000 tons of PVC and corresponding caustic soda units.
Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate annual sales revenue of up to 10 billion yuan. This initiative not only supports regional economic growth but also strengthens the integration of coal, electricity, and limestone resources available in Inner Mongolia. By adopting an integrated coal and power development model, the project aims to transform the area’s natural resource advantages into sustainable economic benefits, contributing to long-term industrial development in the region.
