At the initial stage of construction, the Jinan plant mainly produced commercial vehicle combination meters, with monthly production of 66,000 units and annual production of approximately 792,000 units. According to the plan, the plant will produce body and chassis electronics products from 2012 onwards to supply Chinese commercial vehicle and construction machinery manufacturers and users.
The person in charge of the Aftermarket Parts and Services Business Unit of Commercial Vehicles at the Continental Automotive Systems Division of the Continental Automotive Group stated at the site: “In terms of annual production and sales, China is the world’s largest market for automobiles and commercial vehicles, and has maintained steady growth for many years. We hope to provide high-performance electronic solutions to China's commercial vehicle and construction machinery manufacturers through technological innovation and localization through the use of professional knowledge and rich experience to share the growth potential of the market."
