China questioned EU anti-dumping measures on exports of compressors and other products to China

On April 28, 2008, at the meeting of the WTO Anti-Dumping Measures Committee, China questioned anti-dumping measures imposed by Mexico, Canada, and the European Union on many of its products.
The Chinese side pointed out that Mexico’s anti-dumping measures on many Chinese products are based on a provision of the "People's Republic of China's Accession to the Protocol," which expired in December 2007. To this end, China urges Mexico to take an active and proactive approach to putting relevant measures on track, such as reaching a consensus on the resolution of the matter through bilateral consultations. Mexico stated that it also hopes to conduct bilateral consultations with China on this matter with a view to reaching a mutually agreed solution.
Regarding Canada's anti-dumping measures against China's seamless steel oil and gas casing, the Chinese pointed out that the Canadian investigation authority did not consider the following facts: The large amount of information it provided showed that the products involved were not under government control. The Chinese side believes that Canada considers these products to be imported from non-market economy countries, and has calculated a relatively high dumping margin. Canada stated that if there is any objection in China, it may appeal through the Canadian International Trade Tribunal or WTO related procedures.
Regarding EU anti-dumping measures against China's steel fasteners, citric acid and air compressors, the Chinese side has questioned the discriminatory treatment implemented by the EU against Chinese companies.
At the meeting of the Anti-Dumping Measures Committee, the United States also asked the relevant members to report on the implementation of the following cases: Brazilian PS case, Indian acrylic fiber and polyurethane flexible foam case, Indonesia paracetamol case, Mexican apple and stearic acid case As well as South African PVC and chicken cases.
In addition, the Anti-Dumping Measures Committee also reviewed the following domestic laws and regulations newly notified by the following members: Albania, China, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, and based on China’s application, further reviewed the notifications previously notified by Canada, the European Union, and the United States. Once related regulations.
