China National Heavy Duty Truck sales of 14,100 heavy-duty trucks in April fell 3.45% in April
China National Heavy Duty Truck (Sinotruk) reported on April 11 that its production and sales figures for April showed a decline compared to March. The company produced 9,500 heavy trucks and sold 8,655 units during the month, marking a 31.16% drop in production and a 13.83% decrease in sales from the previous month. This downward trend highlights challenges faced by the industry amid fluctuating market conditions.
Looking back at the first quarter of 2009, Sinotruk saw a strong rebound in both production and sales, with year-on-year growth of 194% and 55.8%, respectively. Monthly sales from January to March also showed an upward trend, indicating initial recovery after a difficult period.
However, when comparing the first four months of this year to the same period last year, the results remain underwhelming. Total production stood at 33,400 units, a 1.71% year-on-year decline, while sales reached 24,000 units, down 14.65% compared to the previous year. These numbers suggest ongoing difficulties in maintaining momentum in the domestic market.
Meanwhile, the actual controller of China National Heavy Duty Truck, China Heavy-Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd., provided data to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. According to the report, the group produced 14,400 units and sold 14,100 in April. For the first four months of the year, cumulative production and sales were slightly lower than the same period last year, with declines of 2.75% and 3.45%, respectively.
Despite these challenges, the company continues to navigate through a competitive landscape. Analysts are closely watching how Sinotruk will respond to market fluctuations and whether it can regain its earlier momentum in the coming months.
