Among them, heavy-duty trucks fell by 37.3% year-on-year; medium-sized and mini-vans both produced and sold, and output increased by more than 25% year-on-year; low-speed electric vehicles maintained a strong growth of 98.6% year-on-year.
Among the various models, heavy-duty trucks, mainly construction and transportation markets, were affected by factors such as weakened investment, real estate regulation and economic slowdown, and rising fuel prices. The market remained sluggish. In the first quarter of this year, heavy-duty trucks dropped significantly, which was a decrease of 37.3% year-on-year. As a representative enterprise of heavy truck production in the province, China disclosed in a quarterly report that it is expected that the net profit of the company in the mid-2012 will be reduced by 50% to 100% year-on-year. In stark contrast to the continuing downturn, production and sales of medium-sized, minivans and passenger vehicles are booming. In the first quarter of this year, 13,889 medium-sized trucks were produced in the province, an increase of 28.1% year-on-year, and 7,643 micro-vehicles were produced, a year-on-year increase of 27.5%.
