This is a 1990 IHC Fire Truck with a Betten body and Mickey equipment. It was originally purchased by the Mount Prospect Fire Department in 1990 and has been maintained by the Mount Prospect Public Works Fleet ever since. The truck is in excellent condition, having been kept indoors its entire life.
It's powered by a DTA 466 Diesel engine, with only 13,000 miles on it. The truck features an automatic transmission, a 36,220 GVWR, and an ONAN 7500KW Diesel Generator that has only 572 hours of use. The generator is equipped with two large 30-amp, 200-foot cords on retractable reels. There’s also a heater installed in the rear cabin for comfort.
The body includes lockable roll-up doors, plenty of storage, and some pull-out drawers. It comes with an 8000 LB Ramsey Winch with a roller fairlead mounted on the front bumper. The truck is also equipped with a high-powered LED emergency light bar and four telescopic flood lights. It has a cascade breathing air tank filling system with explosion-proof tanks that have passed hydrotesting and are good for 5 years.
This truck is in great mechanical condition. The engine runs smoothly, no warning lights are on, the transmission shifts well, and all emergency lights are fully functional. The body is made from aluminum, and there are no known issues. It was fully operational when taken out of service.
The reason for the sale is due to scheduled replacement. The vehicle is currently up for auction, and if you're looking for a versatile vehicle, this could be a perfect opportunity. With some upgrades, it can be repurposed into a dump truck, box truck, tow truck, or even a mobile workshop.
