Shaanxi Auto Shows New Energy Heavy Trucks at Shanghai Auto Show
"New energy heavy trucks account for more than 5% of the total sales of the Group. New energy passenger car products account for 50% of the Group's total bus fleet. It annually produces 5,000 miniature electric vehicles and 60,000 miniature electric vehicle axles." This is at the 2009 Shanghai International Auto Show. A three-year "Green New Energy Vehicle Development Plan" announced by Shaanxi Automobile.
Yuan Hongming, general manager of Shaanxi Auto Group, said: "In 2012, Shaanxi Auto will lead the domestic market for new energy passenger cars, trucks and micro-electric vehicles."
New energy development
On April 21, Shaanxi Automobile released the "Green Declaration of Shaanxi Heavy Truck Heavy Trucks 2009" in Shanghai. He Guangyuan, former Minister of Machinery Industry, Honorary President of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and Fang Hongwei, Chairman of Shaanxi Automobile Group, were the only domestic heavy-duty new energy research and development companies. It is understood that most of the domestic new energy trucks are concentrated in the light truck field. In the heavy truck field, some companies have started to develop and promote LNG heavy trucks, but there are few companies involved in pure electric and hybrid vehicles. In the development plan proposed by Shaanxi Auto, the development of green commercial vehicle products such as CNG heavy trucks, LNG heavy trucks, electric wharf low-speed tractors, hybrid urban trucks, and DME vehicles will be fully developed.
On the opening day of Heavy Truck New Energy Research & Development and Application Laboratory, Shaanxi Automobile signed a cooperation agreement with Xi'an Jiaotong University, Chang'an University and CNR Yongji Xinshiji Motor Electric Co., Ltd. Application research on heavy commercial vehicles, application research of DME on heavy commercial vehicles, development of heavy-duty commercial hybrid electric vehicles, and development of electric vehicles.
Natural gas heavy truck first
In 2009, Shaanxi Automobile set a sales target of 103,000 vehicles, including 75,000 heavy trucks. According to this figure, the target of 5% is nearly 4,000 new energy heavy trucks. How to achieve the 4,000 sales target? The LNG heavy truck became a pioneer.
At Shanghai International Auto Show, Shaanxi Auto brought mature CNG and LNG heavy truck products. “Our products have already achieved mass sales. We have just delivered a batch of natural gas heavy trucks to Xinjiang Guanghui recently. At present, Shaanxi Automobile Natural Gas Heavy Duty Trucks ranks first in the domestic market with sales volume of nearly 1,000 vehicles.†Shaanxi Automobile Marketing Department Staff said.
In early 2009, Shaanxi Automobile signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xinjiang Guanghui, Weichai Power Marketing Company and Zhangjiagang Furui Company for the LNG heavy commercial vehicle project. “In the western natural gas transportation line, the demand for natural gas heavy trucks is very large. We believe that natural gas heavy trucks will have more market space in the near future,†said Zhang Shuangang, deputy general manager of Xinjiang Guanghui Group LNG Company.
