Borne said, "On this issue, PSA's engine meets the legal requirements of the industry, so we hope that the engine of Opel can reach this level." He did not publicly indicate under what circumstances PSA will continue to use Opel in the future. The existing engine means "everything is still unknown." But what is certain is that Opel must improve the efficiency of work in all areas. "Opel will learn from our experience of restructuring, and we expect synergies."
At the same time, a key issue was placed in front of the PSA: paying copyright and patent fees to Opel's former owner, General Motors. Peter Fintl, head of technology and innovation at Altran's German branch, said that because of the frequent contacts between Pac and PSA, he has an accurate understanding of PSA's technical strategy.
Fentlin said that PSA does not need Opel's traditional technology, because the two manufacturers' business content is no different, therefore, Opel's model platform will gradually be eliminated, and then adopt PSA technology. Even so, Opel still has new opportunities.
