Daqing Fertilizer Plant Technical Achievements

The Daqing Petrochemical Company Fertilizer Plant actively applied the new technology to tap the potential of energy saving and consumption reduction, and achieved practical results. The plant's air separation dryer energy-saving transformation, synthesis equipment, ammonia pump to increase the frequency converter and other two technological transformation projects put into operation for six months, the effect of energy-saving emission reduction is obvious, the annual savings of nearly 700,000 yuan.

At the end of 2006, the plant selected a new double-layer residual heat regenerative air drying system to replace the original equipment, eliminating the need for two “power-hungry consumers” such as blowers and electric heaters. Its unique adsorber double-layered packing structure, cyclone honeycomb gas distribution structure and snowstorm-type molecular sieve packing technology have increased the adsorption capacity and adsorption accuracy of the filler, and improved the utilization of super-absorbent and carbon molecular sieve. The new system has been operating smoothly for five months, and the daily gas consumption has been reduced by 8,064 cubic meters compared with the original system. It is estimated that energy consumption will be saved by about 660,000 yuan per year.

After the ammonia pump in the synthesis workshop has installed the inverter, the total control operator can timely adjust the pump outlet pressure according to production needs and optimize the operation. The power of the pump is reduced from 52 kilowatts to 42 kilowatts, and 75,000 kilowatt-hours can be saved annually. Saved maintenance costs, ammonia emissions have also been reduced.
