2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 9-23-17 (more)

This is from Drew.

September 23, 2017 – At approximately 0645 hours, the 5th Battalion and several companies were deployed to a reported structure fire. While en route, the Englewood Fire Alarm Officer (FAO) issued a Still & Box at the location due to reports of people trapped inside a three-story ordinary apartment building. Engine Company 84 and Truck Company 51 arrived first and found heavy fire in the rear of the building. Battalion 5 arrived shortly after and confirmed fire extending through the roof. A 2-11 alarm was called by 2-2-1, who ordered all companies to evacuate the building due to dangerous fire conditions. Two 2.5-inch lines were stretched while Tower Ladder 37 and Squad Company 5’s Snorkel operated elevated master streams. Engine Companies 84, 45, and 50 used their deck guns to help control the fire. Due to structural concerns, search operations could not be completed. Firefighters also faced high humidity and temperatures in the mid-80s. Still Alarm companies included: E84, E47, T51, T30, BN5, SQ5, 2-7-5, RIT, BN6, T15, A55, A36, and 4-5-8.
