The reporter learned from the Zhidan County Party Committee in Shaanxi Province on the 5th that the deputy mayor of Zhang Quxiang, who was reported as a result of the bigamy, had been removed in accordance with the relevant procedures.

The person in charge of the Zhidan County Commission for Discipline Inspection briefed the reporter. According to the report and verification, the deputy mayor had cohabited with another female tour guide and was pregnant and had a child. This was a serious violation of party rules and social ethics, and was detrimental to the image of party members and cadres. The Zhidan County Party Committee decided to remove the deputy mayor's post according to relevant procedures and hand it over to the judicial authorities.

According to the survey, in November 2007, Liu, the deputy mayor of Zhangqu County, Zhidan County, met with the tour guide Wang. Then the two had a good impression of each other. After Liu told Wang that he had divorced, they took a wedding photo and hosted a dinner at the Yan'an Hotel. After they lived together, Wang had a son. In July of this year, the two people reported to the County Commission for Discipline Inspection because of their economic disputes.
