House fire in Park Ridge, 2-25-20

I arrived on Tuesday afternoon and was there just 10 minutes before the fire was mostly under control. It looked like there was a significant amount of fire, but it was knocked down pretty quickly. I noticed that the Niles engine and tower ladder were set up for a master stream operation, but they weren’t actually used. The first-in unit, the Park Ridge quint, was heavily damaged in a previous fire and I believe its ladder is currently out of service. It seems like they’re operating without using the aerial.

I took these photos as I watched the incident unfold. It's interesting to see how quickly the crews responded and how they managed the situation with the resources available. Even though some equipment wasn't used, it’s clear that the team was prepared and efficient. These images give a real sense of what happened on the ground.
