Chicago’s newest Engine Company was officially dedicated today. Engine 2, named *Christopher Wheatley*, was formally put into service this week and was christened this morning in a special ceremony. Karl Klotz, Gordon J. Nord, Jr., and Larry Shapiro were on hand to capture the moment and will soon share a wealth of photos. In the meantime, here are two shots from Larry Shapiro's collection.
The event drew attention from local firefighters, community members, and media, marking a significant milestone for the Chicago Fire Department. The *Christopher Wheatley* is not only a symbol of honor but also a vital asset in protecting the city’s waterfront. More images will be posted tomorrow. Karl Klotz has already shared a gallery of Engine 2 here, and another featuring the dedication ceremony here.
