American Bureau of Shipping launches marine system ship performance software

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has introduced the Marine System Ship Performance Software, a comprehensive software that improves ship efficiency, reduces costs and helps reduce and monitor emissions.
  
Marine System Ship Performance Software aims to increase efficiency and control costs by using ship-specific performance models and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) while supporting environmental compliance and reporting, including EU CO2 emissions monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) rules .
  
The marine system ship performance software will leverage the ship's specific performance model based on ship design characteristics. The model will use the offshore test data for performance prediction and other relevant information to establish performance benchmarks, and combine the output of the model visualization with ship navigation data analysis to improve decision-making ability.
  
Based on performance models and regularly captured data, key performance indicators are built into the software for onshore and onboard decision support. This will result in an operational profile that the entire fleet and the leasing party require operational efficiency, maintenance strategy and consistency.
  
Consumption and emissions calculations will help meet environmental regulations, including monitoring, reporting and verification compliance, and will contribute to effective ship energy efficiency management.

Low-temperature 1-color Pyrometer

This classification includes one color infrared pyrometers measuring range is 250℃-2200℃. The one color pyrometers currently on market are mostly narrow-band pyrometers. Its principle of temperature measurement is to determine the temperature by detecting the radiant energy that occurs in a narrow wavelength range of an object. The temperature a pyrometer measured is the average temperature in an area, and the measuring result is affected by emissivity, lens contamination and background radiation.

To use 1-color pyrometer mode, the measured area of the object should be large (it can fully fill the target field of view) , object surface should be relatively flat (not curved), measurement direction should less than 30 degrees, and the physical and chemical state of the measured object surface should be stable (not in the process of oxidation, gasification or liquefaction) , the optical channel should with less dust and without blocking and attenuation.
